The holiday season is upon us and 2020 is just around the corner. As we move toward the end of the year, you may want to evaluate if you are leaving any 2019 insurance benefits on the table?
On January 1, 2020, your dental insurance benefits will completely reset. If you’ve been postponing recommended treatment or you’re unsure about any remaining benefits you may have, here are five questions to help you assess your situation.
1. Have you met your yearly deductible?
If you’ve met your annual deductible, any treatments covered by your plan will typically be covered by your insurance from now until the end of 2019. That means you may have a unique opportunity to schedule and complete any treatment you may have been postponing before we hit 2020.
2. Do you have money remaining in your Flexible Savings Account (FSA)?
If you have a pre-tax spending account for health related expenses, we encourage you to review any remaining funds. When the clock strikes midnight on December 31st, you want to make sure your FSA is at $0 remaining.
3. Have you visited us at least twice in 2019?
We encourage you to make sure everyone covered under your plan has been to see the Whitlock team for their regular 6-month appointments with cleanings, x-rays, and exams.
4. Have you reached your annual coverage limit?
If you’ve only spent half of your annual limit, you have money available to spend on dental treatment before you reach your limit.
5. Would you like some help?
The Whitlock team has extensive experience with the complexities of dental insurance. If you'd like to take advantage of treatment before the end of 2019 or you’re unsure about your remaining benefits, we’d love to help you.
Please let us know how we can help you get the most out of your 2019 insurance benefits.
